What IS a tor?
Where WAS the tor?
Who WAS the man on the tor?
What does any of this have to do with pipesmoking?
Was the tor on the moor?
Keep away from the moor if you value what?

A tor is an outcropping of rock.
This particular tor is near the Baskerville military installation.
The man is Bendedtict Cumberbatch aka Sherlock Holmes
Mr. Holmes enjoyed smoking shag cut tobacco, among several of his vices
You kept off the moor if you valued your life!

Sherlock Holmes
Holmes smoked pipes.
The tor overlooked the moor.
Your life.

The only "TOR" I am aware of is The Onion Router.
Other than that I am completely lost in this thread :p

A bit of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle lore.
FWIW, Chris is three words short of the grand prize as long as his answers are free of computer search.

Reading ACDoyle would serve you better, for the three missing words, than having seen the Cumberbatch episode.
The "Sherlock" Cumberbatch series, for my money, is some of the finest drama I've seen on television. The writing, acting, and originl stories are quite good. (Netflix)

Definitely. I could go for a little less of the grisly and kinky material, though. (Or am I confusing it with that horrid American thing that was on? Just remembered -- Elementary. Execrable.)

GAH!!! I missed one! That's what I get for being in a hurry (was on the way out the door!).
The Tor is in the moor in Dartmoor. In the Sherlock ep it was near Dewars Hollow.

Tough grader. Reminds me of some of those professors I had in college. Ruthless.

"Or your reason". Geez. I thought it was about the Tor! lol BTW Mister Moo You've had me reading that book all day today instead of studying! It's a GREAT book, though! And I enjoyed a couple bowls of Poe's mix while reading! (does anyone else see the irony of reading Sherlock Holmes while smoking tobacco named after Edgar Allen Poe? Hahahaha!)

So close. "or", not "and".
A tor is a geographic or geological feature.

Wow! I was going to say, "Why don't you just get The Complete Sherlock Holmes Treasury?" and have done with it. Figured you could get a copy cheap from a used book store, but they go for $20-50 depending on condition! I think I got mine free for opening a bank account back about the time of its publication, 1976. I think it's practically the definitive version, complete with original drawings from the Strand magazine.

Y'know I've seen them in Barnes & Nobles but never when I'm in a position to buy. The three I have were printed in the 30's in London. I'm thinking they were part of a volume set. I love antique books and would love to get the rest of the set but...
Being a broke college student has its drawbacks! Hahahaha!!!
