Okay so I used the search tool first before doing this to make sure this already didnt exsist. Also I thought maybe this shouldnt be in the DIY section because, its not exactly "making" anything. But if I'm wrong just move this please.
Okay I'm looking to see how you guys store your tins, jars and bags. For example, custom or antique shelves or cabinets or if you just had something nifty you came up with. My fiance and I are looking for a place and she said I should try to get an idea of what I wanted to do to show it off in a classy way.
So looking to get some ideas from what you guys have
P.S. my christmas present this year was an atique pipe holder with the days of the week on it (pretty sweet)
Thanks!

Hey Josh, first of all I'd love to see a picture of that Antique Pipe Rack.
A lot of the pics I've seen of other guy's "cellars" have been similar to mine, often a china cabinet converted. I have a little pipe cabinet too, I found it at a garage sale for $1.
Good luck on your search.

I picked mine up at a local antique store. It is nothing fancy. It has 3 shelves above a two door lower part. I store the sealed stuff down below and the pipes and open stuff above. It is about 6' tall and 3' wide and was and still is painted black.

My tobacco storage looks like this:

My pipes are scattered on a bookshelf with some open jars and pipe cleaners. My advice is to use a better system than mine.

I use a 6-cube Closetmade storage shelf right now and a Sauder pantry. I do a lot of antique hunting and love going to thrift stores, so I am always hunting for the perfect hutch to pick up for my bacco and pipes.
I have found few here or there, but never the "one." I am picky. Also, I will be almost certainly moving within the next 1-2 years so I really don't want to buy a big beast, get it into my basement and then turn around a year later and have to move it out again!

Seems like everyone is afraid to post up pictures so I'll toss some in lol. The whole room is a mess (the cabinet too)
But my set up is a wood cabinet that's about 7.5 feet tall and 3.5ish wide. It's the home base for all my pipe/cigar stuff but there are a good handful of tins floating around and a few more pipes too.

Has a cool old fashioned style lock and key to keep kiddos and greedy friends out ;)

I love that setup! I'm in the cheap particle board shelving camp so pics would be rather depressing.

There's loads of these things to be had, just need a little looking. Garage sales, Craigslist, and budget home furnishing stores like Home Goods/ Tuesday Morning/etc. It also helps to have a lot of women in the family who are always buying and getting rid of the random shit that's used to decorate your house. Keep an eye out.

I went to the dollar store and bought these metal baskets and wall hangers. My pipe socks are the bedding at the bottom of the baskets.

OK...nothing much to look at here but I did want to add a few more photos to the thread. This is just a small portion of what I have when it comes to piping. I've just recently got back into smoking a pipe. I didn't touch anything for the past 3 years or so.
Small, wall mounted pipe cabinet (granted I've not opened this cabinet in about 3-4 years, so its a little dusty!); I believe I purchased this from another puffer on the old site back around 2010. All of the pipes I'm currently smoking are just lying around my desk.

Tinned tobacco, currently in one of my shop desk drawers.

Jarred tobacco stashed elsewhere in the shop.

Thanks Josh. Yes, I made those back around 2010. They were simple as I was jarring tobacco that I had received in baggies.
If I ever get motivated enough, I'll be making new ones with the actual label from the baccy.

I see a number of people storing jars of tobacco exposed to the light. Isn't it better to keep them in a dark place? I know I'm always happier when kept in the dark.
