I use cigaraficionado.com, but they don't have all cigars ...
Where do you get your info ...? Rating, new cigar, new accessory, etc ...

I don't pay that much attention to the ratings, but I find Halfwheel to offer great pics and lots of factual stats for about anything I'm looking to smoke.

I used to just read the Puff.com reviews. But over time I came to realize that tastes are so subjective that reviews mean very little.

Sadly for reviews a Google search is often the best choice. Cigar reviews tend to be scattered among multiple sites, blogs and forums. Usually you can find one reviewer that matches what you like in a cigar profile and go from there for suggestions.

Or in the case of some newer cigars not find anything at all.

I usually get information from Halfwheel but for reviews I like hearing thoughts from other BOTL. Theres a number of guys Ive noticed have similar tastes to myself so their feedback tends to be all I need.

Or in the case of some newer cigars not find anything at all. That's what I do. There's usually only a couple different blogs that post anything useful and it's just easier to figure out which cigars they've reviewed through Google than it is by searching their blogs individually.

I look on here (or Puff before) as well. I've found that my experience usually matches the reviews Laynard does really well so his are the first ones I look for.

Used to be Puff, now its the guys here. I look at Half Wheel on occasion, but I find some of their flavor descriptions a bit over the top.

Until now, I haven't really had any go-to places for reviews. I'd take recommendations from my tobacconist and a few friends with somewhat similar tastes, but mostly I just looked at descriptions of strength, body and flavor in catalogs and on websites; then I'd buy a few and decide for myself.

Now, I'm following the reviews and discussions in threads here, and I'm going to add halfwheel; if so many Bums trust it, I'll have to give halfwheel a try.

Cigar Aficionado isn't good ? Most selling site refer to them ... Cigar Aficionado best 2014, Cigar Aficionado mix, Cigar Aficionado 90+ mix, ...

I also use google. From there I look for a few I know and like, and also make sure to avoid a few. I could probably name more that I avoid than reviewers I find spot on.

Cigar Aficionado is good, as long as you're interested in the cigars they review and rate highly. But a lot of those cigars are Cubans (which I don't buy), and others are frankly out of my usual price range. With many of CA's highly-rated cigars, I might buy a single or two occasionally at the B&M, but generally not a five-pack or box; and I smoke often enough to make box-purchases of my affordable favorites worthwhile. What I hate is to see one my favorites reviewed and rated lower than something else I've tried and didn't care for; so I look for new-to-me cigars that are highly rated, and try to ignore what CA says about the ones I already know I like.

I read CA more for the cover story and some of the articles, same as I used to do with Playboy (cough, cough). And it's one of the few magazines I read where I don't pay much attention to the ads, because I'm not in their obvious target demographic.

Forgot to include this originally: unless an online retailer specifically mentions Cigar Aficionado, the rating they mention almost certainly isn't CA's. Most of the time, it's either based on customer reviews, sales figures or their in-house "experts".

Lots of places I enjoy like Halfwheel, Seths Humidor, My Cigar Blog, and people here and other forums. I sometimes just use Google and go from there, but those are my go to options most times.

Geez guys, you're making me blush. Well, you'll be happy to hear that since I have reposted nearly all the old reviews, I'll be coming out with some new content. Padilla is up first, then Crowned Heads, followed by Padron.

Oops...I still have some PDRs to reload and a batch of Diesels...hmmm, there doesn't seem to be an award for Diesel Herf N Turf (hint, hint, wink, wink) :cupcake:

Halfwheel, Sethhumidor, Cigar-Coop, Stogiesontherocks to name a few. I don't always agree with Charlie on HW, but I tend to agree with the other 3 listed. HW I use for stats or general information

Phillip "Katman" Kohn. Very interesting reviews, but I have come to appreciate his unique view. I find that we both prefer similar cigars which makes his recommendations difficult to overlook.

And his little off color stories at the end are fun to read as well
