So, a thread on storage containers got me thinking I need a new one.
So, here it is:

740

I'm going to line the sides and bottom with spanish cedar. I'd line the lid too but it has a grid system. Heck, I might just cut the sp down to the right sized squares and do the lid anyway.
Figure I'll go down this weekend and pick up some sp planks.

I may know the thread that triggered such thoughts... ;)

Where are you sourcing spanish cedar? Locally it sounds like, but if online I would love to know your source!

For online sourcing this shop is hard to beat.

While I have gotten big boards (4" x 8" x 6') in the past off of eBay and split them down, this time I'm heading to Woodcraft which is close by. The big boards are economical for ripping wood but I sold my jointer last summer.
Bit more expensive at Woodcraft but easier to start with.

Checking for local hardwood dealers or lumberyards near you may also work for quality spanish cedar. I never knew how many I had near me till I started looking.

When I did my gun cabinet to humidor conversion I got all my SC from Bristol Valley Hardwoods http://www.bristolvalley.com/catalog.asp?prodid=293407

They will even cut to size for you and only charge for the amount purchased. I don't know how much you need but a good resource in general.

Agree - Bob is a great guy and will work with you. Done a few orders with him now and would highly recommend.

I've always wondered where people got their Spanish cedar from. I always wanted to line my coolers with some.

Cool thread, Eric.
