From the FAQ:

How much reputation is given? What is reputation power?

If the administrator has enabled this, the amount of reputation that each user will give (or take away if negative) is shown in the user's posts as 'Reputation Power'. The value of the reputation power is determined by the administrator and may increase over time depending on the settings they have applied.

What are the "settings" the administrators have determined? Long, long ago, in forum far, far away, you received punching power from how long you'd been there in six month increments, plus 1/100th of your own RG total. Obviously, no one has been here for 6 months, and I don't think I've even seen anybody with anywhere close to even 100 points yet. Was gibt?

You're correct, Jim. Those were the settings and new members started out with a "Power" of 0. I think the settings are different now. If the old settings were in place, we'd all be "shooting blanks" for a long time.

Let's see if we can find out.

Sorry I'm late to the party on this one. I'm actually not sure how it's set up so let me check with Grimm and see if I can find some info.

We all started with 10 RG points. Initial hits resulted in a 1 point increase to the RG, so one could conclude that you have 1/10th your existing RG power. Of course, I could just be full of crap.

Time here must be a factor too because everyone has 10 Rg, yet I've had a couple impotent hits. It's going to be a long, uphill battle from where we are now...

But just for a test, I'll neg your RG a minute and you tell me if it went down :p :p
