Anyone out there familiar enough with Frog Morton to give an overview of their blends? Which blend would you recommend to a new pipe smoker? I've heard lots of good things about Frog Morton, but I'm not sure where to start (other than just choosing one at random).

It depends on what you like. It's hard to beat the standard Frog Morton. But I have heard good things about Froggie in the Cellar, and the others.

Frog Morton Cellar- but don't be thrown off by the block of wood that comes in the tin:)

For a beginner I would suggest Frog Morton Cellar or the Original Frog Morton.

But On the Bayou was my favorite if anyone is asking ;)

I wish I could give you a reveiw for their other blends but all ive had is the regular one and it takes some getting used to but Im halfy through the tin and really starting to enjoy it, right off the bat it smelled like pine needles to me lol

I actually recommend Frog Morton Cellar the least out of all the blends... :/

It's too aromatic for me. I personally like On the Bayou.

Completely agree!

I have a jar of Cellar that has been sitting for a long time now, come to think of it. Maybe I should try it now that it has some age on it. Maybe the topping vanished by now.

I bought it when the whole pipe world was gushing over it, and was completely let down

The subjectiveness of tobacco tastes... "On the Bayou" is the only Frog I've tried; received a sample from a BOTL co-worker. Didn't like, a little too tangy for my tastes. The rest of it ended up in my "best of" jar.
