flip side topic..... What cigar have you heard that you HAVE to smoke because its that good and when you light it up.....oh my god it is that good and so much more!!!!

For me it was the tatuaje reserva. I have always read great reviews on the stick and was gifted on over Christmas. Figured it would be a good stick to enjoy Christmas morning with a cup of coffee and that it was. it made me say holy cow this is awesome. since than I make sure I have some Tatuaje on hand

Non Cuban would be:

Ashton VSG (a little high, but darn good)

Los Blancos Nine (just does it for me in every way)

J Fuego Origen Originals (I can't believe they're so cheap)

Casa Magna Domus Mangus (weird name but incredible)

Small ring gauge Hererra Esteli....

One of the few sticks I have no problem paying $10 for....worth every penny IMO.

Not to keen on the larger ring gauge versions, though.

Have to say the Anejo Shark was an amazing cigar. The only thing disappointing about it is how hard it is to get more!

The Illusione Epernay. Universally good reviews, and I was still surprised at how good it was. One of my favorite sticks.

The JGRE 11 I smoked recently was definitely as good as described... In addition, I found the Oliva SG-01 from their world tour sampler to be phenomenal as well.

I agree with Ashton VSG, Los Blanco Nine, and Illusions Epernay. I think Undercrown deserves a spot too. You can find them at pretty affordable price if you know where to look.

Concur. This one gets a ton of hype here, and rightfully so, IMO. Superb smoke.

Both surprised me even though I was expecting good things. I always expect a little less than the hype.

An yet its in the cigar that didn't live up to the hype lol. That is why I love cigar smoking. For me the 9 lived up to everything I read. I got it as a treat for myself over the summer and that was the last one I had. There are more in my future though

LP9 and 1926 surprised me, but the prices suppress my awe.
I asked a B&M employee to pick something out for me and he brought me an LADC Mi Amor which I had never heard of at the time. I was surprised.

I'm also surprised to see Blancos 9 mentioned. I bought a fiver online and they were completely void of flavor and hardly let off any smoke. I can say they didn't burn hot, couldn't even tell I had smoke in my mouth. I'm guessing they were just dried out.

For my palate I've been fortunate that most offerings from the Monster (Tatuaje) series have been stellar. Same with Anejos.

I'll add another vote for the Fuente Anejos and the Illusione Eprenay.

Now I'll toss one in so far not mentioned, it is another Illusione, the Rothschild. What great smoke and at it's price point darn hard to beat.

I hear ya'! Same cigar, two reviews: one thumbs up, one thumbs down.
In baseball, the saying goes, "...and that's why they play the game."
With cigars - "...and that's why you have to smoke 'em yourself."

My biggest "Holy WOW" was my first Anejo Shark. It had been aged 4 years and was truly an eye opener as to how good a cigar could be. I have smoked a few Sharks since then and while they are great cigars, they don't repeat the experience from the one with some age on it. I have a few resting with the older one having about 18 months of rest. I am looking forward to try another one at 3 years of age.
