I know we have done this other places but damnitt it hasn't been done bum style!

Mine macanudo Hyde park. Was the first cigar I ever smoked and if I didn't have a friend to get me to try another cigar I would have gave it up right then and there.

Now brothers let's hear them

Great question! I've smoked a fair number of underwhelming cigars, but in terms of being so bad I HAD to pitch?

The two that come to mind are:

1. Nub - cameroon maybe? IDK, they're all terrible
2. CH Four Kicks. Huber made a lot of shit before he started riding My Father coat tails. Mule Kick was the exception. Drumsticks were decent.

Dominican Blind Sampler I almost made that mistake the price was sweet. neighbor bought it and he is still trying to get rid of them...probably the worst I had was swisher sweet I found junking a chevy it was so bad the sweet stunk like some women's purse and the draw was so hard I almost lost a lung, no matter what I smoked and what candies I sucked on the rest of the day all I could taste or smell was that nasty swisher sweet. couldnt buy one for years after that.

What could have caused that??

I love threads like this. It just shows how different everyone is.

The 5 vegas sticks I've tried-the "A" and the "Miami" have been solid, IMO.

I remember when I got my first humidor. I bought a sampler of some house blends from Thompson (or maybe famous smoke shop)....those were absolutely the worst sticks I've had.

For a long time it was a Romeo y Julieta reserva (nc) that came in a gift set with a flask. The most sour cigar I've ever had. Silver lining, a nice leather wrapped flask.

A few years ago I was handed a Pirates Gold. I literally had 5-6 puffs and wanted to throw up. I would rather have sweat from a true bum drip in my mouth than one of those. Vile things. That's the worst by far.

This one:

Not the flavor but it's just impossible to get a decent burn out of it. Most frustrating cigar I've ever smoked. I think I paid $7 for a 5er on CBid and I still feel ripped off.

A few years back I was the proud winner on cbid. Got a 5'er of Flor del Todo for $3. Well that should have been the tip off. Four of the group fell apart, leaving me with one and only one, thank GOD, that appeared to be smokeable. Nope, crap, discusting, did I say CRAP? Try as I may, and I gave this crap stick at least 30 seconds and two puffs (no pun intended) before I tossed it in the fountain.

And then there was the Gurkha Class Regent. About three years ago I won a 5'er also on the devil site. Now I'm here to tell ya, I am a Gurkha fan and I do enjoy quite a few of their sticks. However the Regent also got a bath. I haven't tried the new batch they have out. Perhaps, some bum will give me one someday and save me a couple of bucks.

I think there's a bimodal distribution on this thread - one is actual worst-ever cigars, and the other is the serious disappointments masquerading as premium cigars. I've had plenty of the latter, but for the former, I would have to say it's a bundle I bought at a little shop in rural Honduras in the 90s. It was something like the equivalent of a few bucks for a bundle of 16 or 20. My tastes were not at all refined at the time, but this one tasted like I was smoking mud. Stuck it out for about half of one, got a splitting headache, and pitched the whole lot of them.

With cigars, you don't always get what you pay for, but you never get what you don't pay for!

Some people like them....you may too. Everyones palate is different. I didn't stumble upon the bad (pencil taste) reviews until after I bought them. And that is what I tasted. It is 100% broadleaf (wrapper, binder, filler)....can anyone chime in if that is the reason for the pencil taste, too much connecticut broadleaf?

Bought a bundle of Indian Tabac Super Fuerte a few years ago. WORST burn and taste of any cigar I'd ever had. Kept at them, thinking that as they aged they may come around. Never happened. An awful experience that kept on giving.

As for Vegas 5, in general, not great BUT I have enjoyed the Cask Strength Firkins.

I think people are confusing "disappointing" with "worst" somehow. Everyone has different tastes, so someone, somewhere is going to be disappointed with literally every cigar made. There's someone out there who will think OpusX is blah, even though the majority will appreciate it for a fine cigar. Same with Ligas, high-end Davidoffs, Tats, Anejo, and all other cigars generally accepted as "high end" premiums.

To me the Jericho Hill I smoked was incredibly disappointing. It wasn't "bad" just because it didn't meet expectations. It was still a good cigar, but I wouldn't pay that price point again for it.

Anyway, just felt like griping because I see people using this thread (the same happened on the Puff version, to a greater extent even) to dog on a premium they didn't enjoy as much as everyone else did.

But to get back to the thread, the worst cigar I've ever tried was a Victor Sinclair Connecticut Yankee. My head was pounding after getting about 1/2" in to the thing. And in that 1/2" I needed another relight... I chucked it in the yard where it stayed until the next time I mowed. Apparently the squirrels, possums, raccoons, and whatever else roams my back yard didn't want it either. If my yard starts growing the tobacco leaves they used in that cigar I'm going to be pissed.

Garo Double Habano. When first starting out, I bought a bundle based off of reviews on CI (I know, I know...I said I just started out!) Had one ROTT, tasted like mud. Waited a couple of months, still tasted like mud. Went back a year later, tasted like well rested mud, plus was bitter. The ones that were left went into a fire pit, didn't feel right giving them away.

Tamboril. I can STILL taste that horrid "cigar" and I smoked it back in 1998. It was as though a large cat ate some rotting woodland creature, crapped it out, someone in the DR put a white band on it and sold it in the US. I bought a whole box of them thinking I was scoring some deal. After smoking about half of that turd I went home, opened the box, and took GREAT pleasure in snapping each of the remaining "cigars". Not only snapping them in two but also reducing them to dust. That's how angry I was with that box of cigars. God did they suck sooooooooo bad. That almost turned me off of cigars.....almost.

AB Maxx Brazil - the first one I smoked tasted like I burned the entire cigar in my ashtray, and then threw it in my mouth. I just did not enjoy it at all. The second one I smoked, months later, was much better.
5 Vegas Gold maduro - this has been well documented. I don't even know how many times I relit this thing. Tasted horrible by the end of the cigar. I actually enjoy their classic, gold, and high primings lines. Granted, I smoke most of those as yard-gars, but still.
Acid Kuba Kuba - Ick.
My brother in law gave me a sampler of cigars for Christmas a few years back. One was a Big Butt. I let it sit in my humidor for two or three years because I was so afraid to smoke it. That thing was the most horrible, vile thing I have ever tasted. I don't know how I finished it. I don't know why I finished it.

I agree. It's close, but this stick is my all time icky yuck cigar. (A certain "high end" line is my honorable mention.). Those VS 55s are some shitty tasting cigars. The price is tempting but my one piece of advice to new smokers would be "dont waste your time with Victor Sinclair."

My worst I feel I should give a second chance because they get good reviews, and people seem to like them:

CAO Brazilia

I picked it up at a liquor store along with some Atlantico rum.

The only way I can describe it is sour milk.
I made it half way and gave up because I felt like I fell for a practical joke.
I tried rinsing the taste out of my mouth with listerine, only to get the taste of sour milk and listerine stuck in my mouth.

I try to shy away from these threads, because had that cigar been gifted to me, I would have felt like a jerk, but at the same time it's interesting how many varied opinions there are. I had the worst cigar I've ever smoked last night. I actually put it down after less than inch it was so bad. The only description I can offer is it tasted like smoking a used diaper. It was gifted to me at a dinner/cigar event at a local winery. The owner of the winery knows nothing about cigars and there was no band. It was a maduro wrapped toro described only as a "Dominican maduro". Decent looking stick, well constructed but yee gawd what a horrible experience.
