Ok, I feel like this new forum needs some entertaining cigar review threads going and I have an idea. I'm willing, assuming I can get a list together and actually acquire them, to post up a thread like the great Po Boy sampler thread. The catch is they all need to be large or otherwise unique cigars. The larger or weirder the better.

So lets get a list going. If I can track them down and its not too cost prohibitive I'll get them together and give them a shot as I find myself with an extra 3 hours to kill and post up the most likely painfull reviews. I'll start it off.

I'll have to pick up a Fuente Hemingway Masterpiece for this. A guy at the B&M fired one up yesterday, and said it'll take him 3 hours to get through it. 9x52

5 Vegas A Friggin' A, anyone? They also call it the Presidente. 8.5x52. I bought a bundle of 20 a while back. Just went thru the last one today. Actually didn't finish it as it was plugged and I found myself growing new tonsils trying to get any air thru it. I think they're packed a bit loose (except the one I tried today), as they only burn for about an hour and a half, which is about how long I take to smoke a normal toro or churchill.

If you see anything else you want to see a poor schmuk review thats either large or oddly shaped copy the list and throw it on. This massive 140+ Ring Gauge by 8.5 inch Bazuka is so enormous that we make it by special order ONLY in very limited quantities. This is an extremely rare size and there is nothing like it of this quality anywhere in the world. The gargantuan Monstruo is a great smoking cigar with an easy draw that produces a medium bodied smoke with an incredibly rich, warm and earthy flavor.

You sure make it sound like you want to repeat the experience. It's a bit smaller than most on the list, but if you send it I will review it.

You are welcome to post up or donate anything, but donations are not necessary. I was just hoping for a list of giant sticks or oddball shapes because one man cannot possibly find them all. If nothing else it might add more cigars to my list.

I will make this promise to anyone though. If it shows up asking for a review it will get it, even if its old, a gurkha, or the dreaded Log that someone posted a few days ago. Just might take a bit as its a bit cold for 3+ hours outside this time of year.

Hey, I said the log is for novelty purposes. The missus calls me a lumberjack because I'll disappear into the woods and walk out with a table. It's only suiting!

Pm me your address. You can tell me how it is! :-)

I cant see that thing without hearing the Log commercial from the Ren and Stimpy cartoons. "It's better than bad, it's good!"

The bomb address should be in my profile.

Are you not interested in custom made cigars? I seemed to have not notice a response to my post?

I'm sorry, I must have missed them. Were you referring to the Bazukas or the one you posted a picture of?

I have never had a custom rolled of any size, but would not rule them out. I have only just started getting things together for this as anything as large as these will need a bit of time to acclimate to the RH I prefer.

Do you roll your own cigars?

that's alright, it just seems strange that you would miss a post in your own thread. no? I heard "large or otherwise unique cigars." and my mind went. Both of them are custom.

Bazukas are special order. I forget detail on what Martinez Cigars needs for delivery time on Bazukas. The Culebricoso CSH 143 is of my own design and manufacturing and, have obtainable qualities in concept. I'll guess this venture will be ongoing for acclimation. right?

Yes, I do roll my own and, have interests in others.

I will likely build up my stock from local sources before I start shopping around, just so I have some stuff waiting and acclimating. I'll lool into the Bazukas sometime in the next few weeks.

How does one even roll a cigar like the one you posted? That must be a rather interesting smoke. Do you recall what was in that particular blend?

the Culebricoso CSH 143. Culebricoso = vitola, CSH = corojo, sumatra, habana 2000 binder/wrappers, 143 = is the blend, piloto cubano, Nicaraguan and, mata fina.

technique.. loose estrujado bunch, braid pressed (4 strand round spiral), closed head and foot.

I was looking at the Thompson catalog (why???) this a.m. and came across this monstrosity:

http://www.cigarcyclopedia.com/webapp/images/stories/archive/cgr%20pix-thompson%20emperador%20124x355.gif

Thompson Emperador 15x120 (it's a figurado so the RG varies).

But is it worth the potential headache of repeat calls and auto shipments? That would certainly be one of the longer smokes.

In the context of this thread, no. Anywhere else, probably.

Very impressive at the least.

Another option..."A" sized cigars. Typically 9.25x47, some are slightly shorter and some are slightly thicker, but the classic "A" can often be a really great smoke.

Many years ago, I bought a box of Tatuaje Reserva Uno A (http://www.newhavanacigars.com/Tatuaje_Reserva_A_Uno_Single_p/tat-brw-auno-1.htm), and thoroughly enjoyed every single one, even smoking one on a road trip from here in the SF Bay Area to Los Angeles.

I also bought some DPG Blue A sized cigars from a fellow BOTL on this site and also found them to be really great.

It's just that the OP sounded interesting and, when I didn't see the larges obtainable cigar that I've seen not posted, I did it.
And, well, I make the most unique thing I've ever seen so, I posted it. I would say I have done custom stuff for my self to this point. I guess I could.

And I thank you for posting everything. It's going to take some time to get through most of the list, so I'm sure I will get to everything eventually. I will be updating the list this weekend again most likely.

You might need to use an image host such as photobucket for your pictures. It's what most of us use as otherwise the pictures show up small or sometimes not at all.
