I have never owned a calabash, but the BCs are the ones that have tempted me on the occasion when I've heard the shape's sirens call.

You're asking a bunch of PAD addicts if you should buy a new pipe? :p
The answer will be yes from us, almost always yes :D
But in all seriousness, I have never owned one either. The prices seem about right though...if you have one lined up pull the trigger :pipe:

I have heard only great things. I may have to pull the trigger if the price is right.

You're really going to ask THIS group of enablers if you should buy something?

I have a gourd calabash but it is not a BC. A meerschaum gourd calabash smokes very, very cool. I recommend that you buy one; be sure you get a stand for it!

The question isn't whether you should buy one, the question is whether you need one.
The answer is yes to both.

I had a gourd calabash, maybe twenty years ago. It smoked exceptionally well, but I didn't smoke it often because it was so big. It just felt clumsy to me.

So I found one new for $209, pull the trigger? Or look to pick up a used one and freshen it up?

Tough call. I have an old one that was gifted to me by a very kind member of poof, I like it a lot. I bet a new one would be nice too though.

The thread title looks like it's just a joke, but it's not. Which is some seriously funny ish.

Oh come on. Just a $4 cob. A $4 cob and a 1 tin of baccy. You can afford that. Can you afford NOT to try it? I may even have a spare around here somewhere... just send me your address... this won't hurt a bit... :pipe: :beaten: :greedy_dollars: :nightmare: :stupid:

It's not even really the money... it's the sheer TIME of getting involved in pipes.
Oh yeah, and the money too, probably that as well.

On a side note: BUY A PIPE
Take the Emperor's advice & grab a cob. Drug store tobacco can be has for a few bucks a pouch too.
You'd be crazy not to at least give it a try
Sean, I'm going to need your address. I'm not going down alone.
To the OP, YES! You should. Heath has a calabash that he posted a picture of in another forum and it's really very nice looking. I'm jealous.
