I just read in a blog that Casa Fuente in Las Vegas will be closing due to a lease issue at Caesar's.
Does anyone else have information on this?
Surely, they would try to secure a new location, wouldn't they?
I wonder what this will do to the Casa Fuente cigars availability in other retail stores in the meanwhile.

I am guessing Fuente either made this decision to shut down the Vegas Casa store or they saw this coming and decided to begin shipping CF to retailers around the country. But this is just a guess. But it seemed strange when they began shipping CF cigars to retailers.

I have not heard this but couple years ago when they first started releasing cf to retailers I expected it was a 1 time thing. My guess is now they know they can sell nationwide why limit themselves. I bet they may still do a store in Vegas but if not it's not affecting me.

Here's what I've heard - On going battle with Caesars, including business hours and the nail in the coffin of disallowing the "outdoor" smoking area (outside seating/smoking area of the shop, in the open mall area, which effectively doubled their space). Lease is up in one year from April and they'll assuredly be gone.
Further complicating all this is issues between the shop and the Fuentes. They don't and haven't had inventory or merch for years. When Casa Fuente was released wide, I was standing in the shop looking at empty shelves. I actually took a call from Old Smokey sitting in the shop and got in on a box split with him!
Don't be surprised if they move and rename to Casa Bradley, Casa Warped, or Casa...?

Casa Gurkha for Tony????
That would make a good title for a song by a Mariachi band.

That's some good intel. Thanks, TJ! So, we should expect to see occasional releases of Casa Fuentes out in the wild?

If they truly divorce themselves from that store/ownership group, I wonder if we'll see a Casa Fuente shop(s) pop up elsewhere.
Edit: What all did the blog say?

Nothing more than what I passed on:
"- Casa Fuente will be closing down due to lease issues after years of being in Caesars."
It was a blog report following attendance at this year's TPE in Vegas. TPE Total Product Expo

All-in-all, its pretty sad. It always sucks to lose another lounge, but there are whole casinos turning to no-smoking, so the mall's position doesn't surprise me.
On the shop side (and this is purely speculation based on my interactions with Casa Fuente Management), I wouldn't be too surprised if the Fuentes felt the Casa shop thought they were too big for their britches. The shop staff, bartenders, and waitresses were always top notch, but the manager had a God complex.

They are now open (if asked) about the coming closure and have a guest book for those who ask to be updated.
As of right now, they still don't know where they'll end up, primarily because the three owners can't agree on the next move. I inferred that the principal owner isn't in a position to buyout or overrule the others.
The state of the humidor was sadder than ever. Mostly Aston, Newman, and AF "regular" release stuff. They did have some Opus Sharks, some Forbidden, and one box of the new God of Fire Green label ($65 ea). Only Casa Fuente stick in stock was the double corona. I asked about the annual charity coffins and they said they got about 300 and all sold in the first week.
I still believe there is an issue between ownership/management with the Fuente family, but they won't talk on that subject.
Sad state of affairs for a place that used to be a true destination spot. I really hope they make it, if anything, for the staff. These are all longtime career staff.
