Looks like it would get a great seal! How was the process of cleaning it out?

Piece of cake. Just had some calcium chloride residue that I rinsed out with hot water and wiped it down with a rag. There's no smell in it whatsoever. I think whatever plastic smell may have been in there has long ago been leached out by the calcium chloride pellets. I think I have 5 minutes into it :D

I think you might need more humidification in there. Just don't let someone accidentally chuck the contents inside the bucket! That would be tragic.

You might be right about that. It was the only Boveda I had just lying around. I'll have to keep an eye on it and see how it behaves. A Boveda in a totally sealed environment will surprise you. I'd actually like it at 65% though just because I think there'd be less chance of mold the drier I keep them. I don't have much control over temperature and in the summer my stuff gets pretty warm. I can freeze for beetles but I'm a sitting duck for mold if it gets too moist in there. I may pick up a couple of 65's and bag up that 69% for a backup again.

Had friend that use to sell lids for those buckets they were airtight and it was two pieces. The center unscrewed like a jar.

Hmm, I need to pick up more ice melt anyway. Might have to make it a nice bucket instead of my usual bag or two. You know, for convenience sake, totally not for a hidden humidor.
