Anybody ever had luck with rehydrating cigars and if so what method worked best. I opened my Xicar travel humidor and found 10 high dollar sticks in there drying out. My best guess is they have been in there for 2 years. They were with a few Boveda travel packs but they would have given up all their moisture within a month. They don't look bad but you can tell they are a bit dry. In my climate the humidity in the house year round is between 50-60%. It rarely drops below 50 even in the dry summer indoors.

I would just add them to my humidor and hope for the best. Give them a month or so before trying 1.

Same. Get them in with other cigars and humidity and give them some time to soak it in.

I agree with Josh and Tony, it’s worth a try. Personally I think I would give them at least 3 months to fully acclimate. But you have nothing to lose. When you smoke one let us know what you think.
I fricken love Science! :)

Thanks for the input. They are resting nicely in with the others and I'll give one a try in a couple months and let you know the results.

I have had good luck with the above method as long as the cigar was not all cracked before it went it for its rest.

Yeah do not try to rehydrate it too fast that can cause cracking too.

Fortunately they look pretty good. No cracking or peeling. Definitely felt a little dry to the touch compared to normal.
