Way back when I needed a 5 count box. Then I needed a 10 count to accompany it since we were cruising most every year. Now I need an additional 15 to cover my bases now that we are heading out for 18 days, which means I need 18 of my tiny cigars for my coffee and I think I can get away with a big boy cigar here and there now that I think SWMBO is a bit used to me stinking now that I smoke a little one most every day and what had been 1-4 sticks a month has become 1-4 a week. Guess I’ll find out here soon enough. With bears about she’s not about to make me sleep in the truck 🤣

Luckily I can stack a bunch of 4x32 smokes at an angle to fit a bunch!

Yeah, I'm up to 3 of the 5 count. I keep telling myself I should just buy a 15 but then what would I do with my 5 counts? Maybe that new guy chain_gang needs one...[emoji848]

I've got a couple 3 counts that're only good with 50 gauge, and a huge Xikar travel humidor. Haven't really needed the cases lately, but it would be good to have.

Luckily I can stack a bunch of 4x32 smokes at an angle to fit a bunch!Picked this one up last summer when I really got into cigars. It's great since you can use it with or without the padding. With the padding you can hold 40. Without, probably double. It's been sitting empty for a while, and not sure when it'll be functional for traveling in the near future. Let me know if you're interested.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200823/22b820f87ad435df6c4e26603ad106b9.jpg

I got a 5 CT 10ct and 15 CT. I have thought about getting a bigger one but I doubt I need it.

I have a 5 count, 10 count and 40 count. I don't use the 5 count very often, only if I'm going to a buddies for a smoke or two. You can fit 2 cigars, lighter and cutter in there. Hard to cram in 3. If i'll be somewhere for all day or the weekend, the 10 count works well. For longer than a weekend, the 40 count is awesome. I don't have the foam inserts in mine.

So, in conclusion, smoke cigars!

I really don't see the use of these 'herfadors'. I have a couple 40 ct, wood humidors; if I'm going somewhere conducive to cigar smoking, I just toss one of them in the truck. Don't know why you'd need to load your cigars into a different box unless you were taking a plane somewhere.

Recently, I threw my smokes in a Xikar tin, the one my lighter and cutter combo came in, for camping. The kids knocked it over at some point, the sticks were on the ground for god knows how long, only god knows what bugs crept all over them, not sure if the kids messed with them, and thankfully they weren't trampled underfoot. One was rough looking, but still very smokable. I need a more secured container, especially if it's hauling around a Ulysses or more, and a 40 count is overkill.

I guess a couple of rambunctious kids would necessitate some cigar armor.
Usually I just take a cob pipe if there's the off chance for an evening smoke. A cob and a tin of tobacco is practically indestructible. I just toss it in my duffel bag.

I have never owned a herfador and have never felt I was missing anything. I think they are nice, I just don't see a for one for me. When I go herf with others, I just use a 1 gal Ziplock bag. Fancy I know, but that's how I roll. :)

you know I like my herfadors for traveling especially some place new if I know I won't smoke on a trip I take an empty one because who said I won't buy any. Worked great when I went to KC

A 5 or 6 cigar herfador is perfect for a round of golf. Protects them while in the golf bag.
I say this as I haven't golfed since October of 2018.
Very useful for camping too.
They are a necessity for travel on a plane, or if say attending the CigarBum Orgy.
Better get a case with a lock for that trip, though.
I used a sealed plastic container that held about 20-30 sticks depending upon size. Had a separate tray that fit in the top that held lighters, cutters, matches, etc.
Also have a couple empty plastic ammo cans with a rubber seal that might make a good cigar traveling box; but haven't had opportunity to use one yet.

I have everything from a 3 count sleeve to a 40 count.

rodwha if you have a Harbor Freight nearby they sell some cases that can be used as a herf-a-dor. I got one that's about a 15 count size (with no foam) pretty cheap there.

Sounds like a good teaching moment. :)

Yeah. For me it’s camping or traveling. Well protected and not too burdensome in your luggage.
