View Full Version : Who uses an cigar based apps on their phone?
Does anyone frequently use any humidor monitoring apps, cigar scanners or anything of that nature? Not to monitor humidity, but mostly to keep track of what you have with easy to edit, add and remove listings?
I found Cigar Scanner and it seems to be alright. Some of the lines/brands that I have aren't to be found on there, but it gives you the ability to add listings as well. Are there any others people use? Better ones?
It gives you the ability to scan the cigar with a picture. If it is in the database, it will automatically find the brand - such as Padron or Fuente. You can then add the specific line, size and amount in your humidor.

Many years ago I kept a spread sheet but got hard to keep up with. I saw some apps but my concern was it would take so long to input what I have and I worried about any back system or list in case it ever went away.
If you use it for a while let me know how good its working for you and if there are any custom setting such as labeling a cigar as a gift rather than a purchase

I have used several at different times. My most recent was cigar scanner. I have a lot of boutiques and more times than not, my cigar wasn’t listed. I let it go and haven’t kept it up. Kudos to those that can. I know WNYTONY has an extensive data sheet for all of his cigars. Unfortunately, due to Apple’s anti-tobacco stance, the cigar apps can’t publish updates.

I use good ol' Microsoft Excel for my cigar inventory tracking

Yep - I use an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of everything. I use Dropbox so it's available on my home computer and I can get to it on my phone when I'm standing in a shop wondering how many I have or what I last paid.

Spreadsheet for me too. When I really ramped up my stock there weren't great apps for it and now I'm set in my ways and don't want to start over!

Grey Matter gets it done here but I seldom have more than 700 cigars on hand

You can also use Google Sheets, which has a phone application. That's what I use.

It also keeps track of what I send out so if I was thinking about preparing a bomb (not that I'm planning anything right now, but in in say 2-3 weeks who knows) I would have knowledge of previous strikes :seg:

Your an evil little man.:chainsaw:
I use my superior brain power to keep track of stuff. If that doesn't work very well, I don't know it. Keeping track of my cigars doesn't have much importance to me and frankly seems like work.

It sounds like you need to patent that set up.
I'd be willing to pay for it!

Pretty much the same here.
But I won't lie, Tony's setup sounds sweet. And knowing what you have at every point would be nice.

I've been asked to share it enough that I have an email all done with a write up and an example spreadsheet. Anyone wants it - just pm me your email address and I'm happy to share it. It's not rocket science, but does take some basic excel skills and the time to use it.
