My recent order from CI came with a free sampler of these Punch 1840 smokes. The Rare Corojo is simple but how does one tell the difference between the others? I’d bet the darker one is the Maduro, but I’m not familiar with the other two wrappers. I’d like to know which one I’m smoking when I burn them.
Also the description states they don’t stray far from medium flavor. Flavor or strength? Anyone familiar with these?

That is a tough one. I do not see much to tell them apart with.

The oscuro would be the darkest one, followed by the middle one as a maduro and the one on the left as the EMS. EMS is English Market Standard, which is essentially a "natural" wrapper cigar. So it will be the lightest.

There’s several brands I’ve not tried just because the name seems less than stellar. Punch sounds odd to me, and not something that seems fitting for a cigar, but I did try some cigarillos. I wasn’t very impressed. But as these were free I added another tin of CAO Mx2’s to meet the criteria just to check them out. $4/ea ($16 for the sampler box) is a nice price, but it didn’t look like I can buy just the one type, which likely means I’ll never buy it.

Shows how little I know. Figured the Maduro was the darker one. And thanks for explaining the EMS as I’ve never even heard of it. Thanks!

I'll say I've had many Punch cigars and enjoyed most, but the Rare Corojo Double Corona with a years rest was very good....
