So, I'm debating a trip to Vegas for March Madness this year. A friend of mine and I always skip work to watch the first full day or two of games. Me being a Tennessee fan and my friend being a Michigan fan, we thought we might step our game up this year. This year, we were talking about a trip to Vegas to watch them from a sports book. I'm not sure yet if either of us can pull it off this year but I wanted to see if any of you guys have suggestions for sports books you can still smoke in. I also wanted to see if anyone else may have an interest in such a trip.

The first 4 days of the tournament should be a national holiday. Just saying.

Considering I had to google what a sport book was...I should probably sit this one out

I dunno, Kris. You sound like the kind of guy Vegas would love to have in a sports book!

Sounds like a great time. If Vegas falls through we are getting an opening round here in Columbia. Tickets for the weekend are bit rich for my blood, but if you come down we will definitely meet up for cigars and drinks.

Fremont Hotel and Casino is where you want to be. Large sports book that you can still smoke in. Obviously, being downtown instead of on the strip, it's not the most glamorous that Vegas has to offer, but I had a great time there betting on horses and some college basketball last February. But also keep in mind that you don't have to be in the book to watch the games. You can go into any casino, place your bets for the day, and take your slips wherever you want. Each morning, I went down to the book in our hotel and bet on something even though I didn't stick around. You could then go to any cigar lounge you want to and watch the games.

I'll be there mid February-let me know if there is specific spot you want me to scope out. Odds wise, they're all pretty close anymore (heck they're all owned by only a few entities) but I usually find good value at the Westgate (was Hilton) and on freemont the Golden Nugget.

Ok, officially going next weekend.

Who wants what and what do I need to scout out?

Only thing on my agenda besides cigars and "charity work" is a Vegas Knights game.

If you want an awesome, old school Vegas experience, I highly recommend the bar inside of the El Cortez. I think I spent 3 of my 4 nights smoking stogies in there. It’s just classic. Great lounge singers, too. Four Roses for around $5.

Name of the bar/lounge inside?

Daily Happy Hour from 4-6PM.

Obviously, Freemont is a lot older than the Strip, so it's a bit dated. But it's more my speed. My brothers and I just pretended we were the Rat Pack!
