So I recently purchased a Peterson Dublin Edition pipe at a B&M in Kansas City while visiting a couple of weeks ago.
I have only smoked it 3-4 times and noticed each time that I was getting a little moisture on my hand from under the bowl.
At first I thought it was coming from around the band, but upon closer inspection the damn thing has a small crack in the shank. The thick black laquer/finish partially filled it in and the shop had pretty dim lighting, so I missed it.
The thing is, I can't find my receipt.

I've emailed Peterson and hope they reply soon.
I'm not wanting a refund, I just asked if I can send it in and get a replacement.
It is obviously new.

Anyone dealt with them before?

I'm hoping I'm not out of luck since I don't have my receipt.

I got good news.
They sent me an email simply saying to send it back to them.
I assume that means they will see the problem and send a replacement.

Now to see how much it costs to ship a pipe to Ireland. lol

I had the same thing happen to me back in the mid-eighties. A wonderful little Peterson system pipe (one of my favorites) started leaking from the silver band and it also had a crack under the band. They replaced it!

Which B&M? If Peterson doesn't take care of you if it's a couple of the B&M's I frequent here in KC, they will take care of you.

They should take care of you if Peterson doesn't.

Next time you're up this way drop me a line and I'll see if I can't meet up with you.

I'm about 20 minutes from all the B&M's. Be nice to meet others from here.

If I’m back that way I certainly will.

I also visited Cigar and Tobac LTD in Overland Park.
It was a much better shop IMO.
More laid back and an older clientele.

I like them too but one of my favorites is Fidel's up in Westport. Small place but comfy.

Update.
I drug my feet and didn't send the pipe off until the end of January or beginning of February.
I darn near forgot about it, and just thought about it the other day.

Well, today I got a package at work.
It had my old pipe in it, as well as a pipe box.
I did not expect them to return my old pipe, but they did.

Also they sent a new Rocky Donegal bent pipe that I really like. I can't wait to get home and pack a bowl.

It took a while, but I shipped it to Ireland, so that is to be expected.
Peterson came through even though I did not have a receipt and waited 4 or 5 months before sending it in.

They're solid. I'm happy.
I'll post pics of the replacement pipe when I get home this afternoon.

Sounds like they did you right not much of a piper but I may keep that in mind.

I didn't try outlaw when I went to Kansas City but Diebels in KC was a great store for cigars that also had pipes.

It's a great place if you want to watch a game or interact with a lot of people.
It is HUGE. And busy and loud.
It's more like going to a bar that doesn't serve alcohol. (I think you can BYOB).

For a lazy Saturday afternoon, it's too much, at least for me.
